Invalid and No Matching Values Messages

When searching for something in PeopleSoft, have you ever received the message "No matching values (or records) were found" or "Invalid values"? These messages can mean several things:

  • It can indicate that your level of access prevents you from seeing what you need to see. If this is the case you will need to contact us at srhelp@umn.edu or 625-2803 for assistance.

  • It could also mean that you do not have access to something in particular, such as a service indicator code. We can also can help you with this.

  • Another reason may be that you are looking for something in the wrong place, such as searching for a record in Program Plan instead of Student Admissions before the student has been matriculated.

So if you get a message like one of the above, ask yourself if you are entering the right information in the right place. If you are, call us for assistance.

ESUP Preview Session for Schedulers

A preview session for departmental and collegiate schedulers will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2-3:15 p.m. This session will provide a sneak peek at the improvements and changes that will be coming to class scheduling with the upgrade to PeopleSoft 9.0. An update on the scheduling cycle for fall 2014 and spring 2015 will also be included.

The session will be offered concurrently in Rapson Hall 56 (East Bank), CSOM 2-215 (West Bank), and Peters Hall 155 (Saint Paul). No pre-registration required. Please make sure your schedulers can attend.

Astra Schedule Events Training for Student Workers

The process regarding how student workers can be trained on Astra Schedule Event has changed to allow for supervisors to provide this training to student workers on the job. While we still welcome and encourage student workers to attend ASR's Astra training when possible, supervisors may provide Astra training to their student workers upon request.

Per the normal procedure, supervisors who choose to provide Astra training must have student workers complete the Astra Access Request form. The supervisor should then email ASR at ocmsoftwarehelp@umn.edu to request to provide supervisor-led training to the student worker. In turn, we will provide the supervisor with a training guide and record the supervisor's reported training of the student worker in our database. Current student workers with Astra Schedule access are not affected by this change.

As a related reminder, please notify ASR at ocmsoftwarehelp@umn.edu if a student worker with scheduling access in Astra leaves his or her position, so that we can deactivate their access to schedule departmental rooms.

Welcome Stacey Tidball

Stacey Tidball joined ASR in early March as the new Associate Director of Continuity & Compliance and is the supervisor of the Training Team. Stacey is not new to the University - she held a position at the U of M Law School Career Center several years ago and received her degree from the U of M Law School. Welcome Stacey!
